Financial Planning

  • Cash Flow Planning

We believe a thorough understanding of one’s cash flow is paramount and essential in providing prudent financial advice and investment management. Understanding your inflows and outflows of cash reveals a pattern of spending, savings and investing.  While your cash flow will vary over time, it is important to create a baseline to identify potential opportunities and forecast long-term projections. Cash flow planning is not budgeting; rather it is creating structure to enable you to pursue your desired lifestyle and legacy.

  • Risk Management

Coverage of risk exposures is essential to ensuring that you are able to continue to meet goals despite a loss you may experience. Risk exposures which concern many individuals include premature death, disability, illness, property loss as well as damage, liability and unemployment. Along with identifying potential hazards that may jeopardize one’s financial well-being, risk management planning evaluates techniques to mitigate risk exposures.

Tax planning can help you accomplish all of the elements of a financial plan in the most tax-efficient manner possible. Investment Management

  • Investment Policy Statement

Investment Policy Statement provides general investment goals and objectives of a client and describes strategies that our advisors will employ in order to meet these objectives. Specific information on matters such as asset allocation, risk tolerance, and liquidity requirements.

  • Portfolio Construction

To reach the goals and objectives outlined in your Investment Policy Statement, a disciplined method of portfolio construction must be established that balances the potential risks and returns of various types of investments. Five major investment decisions are made in the portfolio construction process:

    • Asset Allocation:  Choosing asset-class weights:  equities, fixed income and cash.
    • Sub-Asset Allocation:  Choosing investments within an asset class, such as U.S. or international equities; or large-, mid-, or small-capitalization equities.
    • Active and/or passive allocations:  Choosing indexed and/or actively managed assets.
    • Asset Location:  Deciding on the placement of investments in taxable and/or tax-advantaged accounts.
    • Manager Selection:  Choosing individual managers, funds, or securities to fill allocations.
  • Portfolio Management

Portfolio Management is the implementation and on-going monitoring and review of the Portfolio Construction. This is achieved through disciplined methodical process by our investment committee, along with regular client review meetings, and internal portfolio construction reviews.

  • Regular Performance Reporting

Investment reports will be provided on a monthly basis. In addition, during your Lifestyle & Legacy Review Meeting, a report outlining the portfolio’s composite investment performance (net of fees) will be provided. Our goal is to provide transparency at all times by providing frequent investment performance.
